I thought i would share some of the beautiful colours in the garden today as they could be disappearing soon…according to the weather forecast the winter is on it’s way.

Hope you all have a wonderful week and take care of eachother.

Coming in for landing..

Despite the cold, snow and ice on the lakes here in Sweden there is still a surprising amount of bird life around.

I guess this was a hungry girl, because as soon as i climbed out of the car she came flying over. Unfortunately i didn’t have anything for them, but as they always are willing to pose for photos next time i will have to give them a treat 🙂

Have a good weekend all!!

One for the Rum lovers out there..

Yeah man!!

We have recently returned from our dream holiday to the island of Jamaica, and what a fantastic time we had.

There will be many more…and a lot more colourful pictures coming soon, but firstly a piccie from one of our trips out, a visit to the Appleton Rum Distillery 🙂

This is the ageing room….a massive room, filled with thousands of barrels of Rum ageing for up to 50 years in oak barrels.

We managed to get a bottle of 12yo home with us and oh how i can recomend it….but do not ruin it with cola 😉

I will be back with more about Appleton and the beautiful Jamaica…but in the mean time please click on the link below and have a look at many more B & W pics at..

Autumn at it best!

Three weeks ago Sussi and I were in Vårgårda for their Photo clubs anual exhibition…two days filled with amazing speakers sharing their work and lots of tips and tricks, so much inspiration and a date that will probably be in our calendars every year from now on 🙂

On the way home we decided to take advantage of a new location and found a wonderful park in Alingsås where autumn was showing off to the max!

Nolhagaparken, we were here a couple of hours but wouldn’t have had any problem with a whole weekend enjoying “Autumn at it’s best”.

Have a good week!!

Another discovery :)

We had been looking around for a new place to explore with our cameras and found a diamond…

We discovered Hjälstaviken in Uppland, about 50 KM from our home in Västerås.

Here we spent the best part of last Sunday and even managed to make some new friends.. 😉

As usual the thermos and sticky buns were with us and you couldn’t wish for a better view to sit and enjoy them 🙂

_DSC6962,1-web

Unfortunately Sussi has to work tomorrow and take care of our sick and elderly but i am going to return here alone and continue the discovery 🙂

I took delivery of a new Wide angle lens earlier in the week so who knows…maybe i will test it out 🙂

Please enjoy the rest of the weekend and send an extra thought to the victims, their families and everybody affected by the cowardly act in Paris ❤

Please let me….

…eat my dinner in peace!!

Today we took ourselves to a new (for us) nature reserve “Hjälstaviken” just 50km from our home.

Such a wonderful place that we will be visiting many more times to enjoy the variation in scenery and the beautiful nature.

It’s not too often that animals complain about having their photo taken but this young lady wasn’t too happy about it…she even managed to stick her tongue out at me in the middle of eating her way through a pine tree 🙂

Have a great week!!!

Teddy Bears Picnic…

….or dinner for one!!

Following so many photo sides on FB we couldn’t help but see that there was something extra special moving around in the forests and fields fairly close to us. It’s not very often there is a bear sigting this far south in Sweden and we couldn’t help but join the hundreds of people that had parked up nearby to view this unusual sight.

_DSC5924_bw-web

And he/she didn’t seem in the least bit bothered by the audience. Eating from the field, walking a bit, laying back down, eating again…

So fantastic to get the opportunity to photo a real live bear not in captivity.

Have a great week!!

On the autumn theme….

…but slowly moving towards winter!

Yesterday morning the alarm was set for 05.30 A trip out with the cameras to a favourite place we haven’t been to for a few months…”Strövstig” 3,5km in Svanå.

-3° C was the temperature showing on the cars dashboard, and when we were there the frost was glistening on the trees and in the grass in the first on the early morning light.

_DSC5640_bw-web

But at this time of year you don’t have many minutes to capture the ice crystals…for as soon as the sun strikes them small drops of water start forming instead, and the glistening white turns back to autumn colours again….for a few more weeks anyway 😉

Hope you all have a safe week!!

The summers last flowers??

I wonder if these can be the last of the summers flowers that are still hanging on in?

So sad that this time is soon over so thought it would work with a Black and White conversion..
